Cairenn closed stoutly in the final strides to make it close, but Ms Locust Point dug in to win by a nose in 1:10.11.
“She’s quick. I just let her go along and she had enough left to win the race,” said Jorge Vargas, Jr.. “She kept going. I was confident.”
Bred by Leslie Campion, Ms Locust Point is one of Dialed In’s five stakes horses this year. His leading runner this year, Gunnevera, was third in the Dubai World Cup (G1).
